Lietuvių kalbos naujažodžių duomenynas
Development of the database (http://naujazodziai.lki.lt/) started in September 2011 in line with the European Commission-funded project META-NORD; the database has been undergoing continuous updates ever since. The goal of this work is to create a database for continuously storing new lexis of the Lithuanian language and eventually revealing a systemic image of this lexis, as well as presenting users of the Lithuanian language with hands-on information that is not otherwise available in other lexicographic sources.
The new lexis – new coinages, or neologisms – make its way to the language either through borrowings (translation) from other languages, creating new words on the basis of the languages own formational principles, or by giving new meanings to existing words.
The database is expected to give the picture of the extent of new coinages in the Lithuanian language over the past few decades, and once more data are available, eventually capture the dynamics of new words: when, and in what sources, new words appeared, how much they spread in usage, and in what way, the new models of word formation that become evident.
At the end of 2012, the database contains 1,500 new words from different domains of usage of the modern Lithuanian language – primarily printed and web media, administrative language, fiction. The database gives the definition of a new coinage, indicates the area where it is used, shows its semantic and formational ties with other new words in the database, illustrates usage with examples, and gives normative comments to language users if necessary.
Just like many other digital products that exist on the Internet and reflect modern processes, the new coinages database is available to users as a non-finite and ever evolving and expanding compilation of data that can be improved by anyone willing to send their feedback and suggestions.

Duomenynas (http://naujazodziai.lki.lt/) pradėtas kurti 2011 m. rugsėjį pagal Europos Komisijos finansuojamą projektą META-NORD ir nuolat pildomas. Darbo tikslas – sukurti duomenų bazę, kurioje būtų galima nuolat kaupti naująją lietuvių kalbos leksiką ir ilgainiui atskleisti sisteminį šios leksikos vaizdą, taip pat lietuvių kalbos vartotojams pateikti praktinės informacijos, kurios nėra kituose dabartinės leksikografijos šaltiniuose.
Naujoji leksika, t. y. naujažodžiai (arba neologizmai), patenka į kalbą arba skolinantis (verčiant) iš kitų kalbų, sudarant žodžius pagal savo darybos modelius, arba suteikiant jau esamiems žodžiams naujų reikšmių.
Duomenyne tikimasi fiksuoti naujažodžių atsiradimo per pastaruosius keletą dešimtmečių lietuvių kalboje mastą, o ilgainiui, sukaupus daugiau duomenų, – ir naujažodžių dinamiką: kada ir kokiuose šaltiniuose kokie nauji žodžiai pasirodė, kiek ir kaip jie plinta vartosenoje, kokie ryškėja nauji žodžių darybos modeliai.
2012 m. pabaigoje bazėje yra 1500 vnt. naujažodžių iš įvairių dabartinės lietuvių kalbos vartojimo sričių (daugiausia iš spausdintinės ir internetinės žiniasklaidos, taip pat administracinės kalbos, grožinės literatūros). Aprašoma naujažodžių reikšmė, nurodoma vartojimo sritis, reikšminės ir darybinės sąsajos su kitais duomenyno naujažodžiais, vartosena iliustruojama pavyzdžiais, prireikus pateikiama norminamųjų pastabų kalbos vartotojams.
Naujažodžių duomenynas, kaip ir daugelis internete gyvuojančių ir dabarties procesus atspindinčių skaitmeninių produktų, teikiamas vartotojams kaip nebaigtinė ir nuolat besikeičianti, besiplečianti duomenų sankaupa, prie kurios tobulinimo gali prisidėti visi pageidaujantys, siųsdami pastabas ir siūlymus.
