The Standard Lithuanian Language Vocabulary Base has roughly 82,000 entries. An entry consists of a title word, stressed, followed by an identification of the part of speech and an illustrative phrase or sentence. Only correct words that are suitable for the common Lithuanian language and frequently occur in modern usage have made it to the Standard Lithuanian Language Vocabulary Base. The Base is free from dialectisms or rare, outdated words and includes many terms from different areas that have never been recorded in any dictionary before. The illustrative words, just like title words, are stressed. This Base provides a foundation for the future Dictionary of the Standard Lithuanian Language.

„Bendrinės lietuvių kalbos leksikos bazėje“ yra apie 82 tūkstančius įrašų. Įrašą sudaro antraštinis kirčiuotas žodis, prie jo nurodyta kalbos dalis ir vienas iliustracinis žodžių junginys ar sakinys. Į „Bendrinės lietuvių kalbos leksikos bazę“ atrinkti taisyklingi, teiktini bendrinei lietuvių kalbai žodžiai, paplitę dabartinėje vartosenoje. Tarmybių ar retų, pasenusių žodžių bazėje nėra. Bazėje yra nemažai įvairių sričių terminų, anksčiau nefiksuotų jokiuose žodynuose. Žodžių iliustracijos, kaip ir antraštinis žodis, yra kirčiuotos. Ši bazė yra būsimojo „Bendrinės lietuvių kalbos žodyno“ pamatas.
